Solving Mysteries Through Chemistry

Overview

The Organic Geochemistry Unit is a research group based at the University of Bristol. We use analytical chemistry to investigate archaeology, environmental chemistry and palaeoclimatology. Our research includes uncovering the impact of plastic pollution on farmland, investigating the diet of people who lived thousands of years ago, and predicting Earth’s climate millions of years ago.
Our stand will include interactive activities describing our methods and research, with the opportunity to join in and help us solve some of nature’s mysteries! All ages welcome.
