Molecular Biophotonics: Lighting Up The Unknown

Overview

Our team at the University of Southampton uses light to explore our world and beyond. From exploring Mars to the deep oceans, light is used throughout many different fields of science. Our exhibit includes Model Rovers, Coral Detectives and activities to explain the science of light induced vibrations and their use in revealing the identity of materials of life. Additionally we will have volunteers from a wide variety of academic backgrounds that can explain and answer questions about what it's like to be a scientist, how to get into STEM and what it's really like to be a university student.
