Overview
  • When you visit our stand, see our Greenpower Electric Race car and talk with the Team, you can see how the pupils at King’s School, Bruton have embraced the Greenpower challenge. The KSB MotorSport Team was set up by pupils nearly three years ago and some thirty plus students have been involved in the Team since it’s inception.

The Greenpower programme has not only inspired pupils to apply and develop their engineering knowledge in a competitive environment, it has also helped them to develop life skills, like teamwork, communication skills, resilience and problem solving.

The programme is not just for budding young engineers or race drivers as like all race teams, there is a commercial aspect as pupils learn other business skills like PR, marketing and fundraising through sponsorship before applying financial skills as the Team manages these budgets through the progression of the race season.

The Greenpower Team has competed in races at a variety of motor racing circuits such as Goodwood and Castle Coombe and we have qualified for the International Final in both our seasons of competitive racing so far. If you visit our stand, you will see how passionate we are about what we do.

The Greenpower programme has been an inspiration and many pupils have used their Greenpower experiences to help with University applications, CVs and as stepping stone into apprenticeships. You can find out more about us and follow the KSB MotorSport Team through our website. We look forward to sharing our experiences with you in person at Somerscience in May.
